Going Organix

I have been using the Vanilla Silk shampoo and conditioner by Organix, once a week for about two months now. I first spotted this combo in Boots one day and in all honesty I was literally drawn in by the fact that it smelled like vanilla *shrugs*. But once I had used  both shampoo and conditioner and did my research on this brand I soon found that the smell was just one of the major bonuses of using these products.

The mantra of this brand is Beauty Pure And Simple, this already gives you an insight into ethics of this company. All Organix products are Sulphate and Paraben free, this allows the product to clean but not strip the hair, making it safe to use for those with chemically or colour treated hair. They are also made with active organic ingredients widening its suitability for all hair types.

The writing on both bottles reads:

Indulge your senses with this exclusive blend of smoothing Tahitian vanilla bean oils to instantly nourish and moisturize, while silk amino proteins strengthen and seal your hair’s cuticles, revitalizing your hair, creating silky, smooth shiny hair. Smoothing Tahitian Vanilla Bean oils blended with exotic silk amino proteins create a decadent treat. All you need for soft, smooth and seductive hair in one irresistible formula.

My personal opinion is definitely a positive one. My hair is very dry, coarse, damaged, colour treated... you name it I've got it. Yet despite all the things going against it the Organix Vanilla Silk shampoo and conditioner has left my hair soft, manageable and the smell is beyond amazing! As even after using my leave in conditioner and heat protecting spray, the lovely vanilla scent still lingers. Within the vanilla silk line there is also a soft & silky serum and blow dry cream available. There are also many other ranges available by Organix, including; coconut milk, cocoa butter and Moroccan argon oil to name but a few.

The vanilla silk shampoo and conditioner can be purchased at Boots. Some collections aren't available in the UK but most can be purchased online at Amazon.com. More information about the Organix Vanilla Silk shampoo and conditioner and all other Organix ranges can be found here: http://beautypureandsimple.com/vanillasilk.asp

My Secret Weapon & Frizz Fighter

You're going to have to bare with me as I try to find the words to express my love for this little baby right here:

This little guy is my ultimate secret weapon when battling the daily wear and tear that occurs in frizz-prone Britain. Being of mixed origin and living in the UK make an interesting combination for you hair, especially given as even the slightest hint of bad weather or humidity will cause your hair to spiral into an un-known state. This being my most common problem with my hair I have spent literally a lifetime searching for a solution to my frizzy blues. Out of curiosity one day in boots I stumbled upon this little miracle The Botanics Shine Infusion Serum, alongside its handy partner the Heat Protection Mist:

These two work perfectly together, starting firstly with the protection mist when tackling my shame full daily heat styling. And then following with the serum, which works like a dream controlling frizz, fly aways or any loose unruly hairs. Even when I don't bring out the GHD's, or rather when I'm running late and I only have time to maybe flick the top half my hair (a usual occurrence), I can still run the serum through my ends and maintain that bed-head wavy look but still keep the style under control. Adding to its already amazing benefits it also adds an amazing shine to the hair making it look healthy and lustrous. And both the serum and protection mist have an amazing smell, kind of like the smell you would imagine walking through a rain forest.

All in all an amazing fluke buy, and a now life-long partnership. Thumbs up Botanics!

Botanics Hair Shine Infusion Serum 30ml £4.07
Botanics Heat Protection Mist 150m £4.50

Both available at Boots
Do let me know if guys have tried this or any other hair products in the Botanics range and what you thought of the results?

Hope you have a lovely weekend

Love For Layers

So I'm off to the salon again looking for a new fresh and dynamic look.... one problem! I do not like taking risks with my hair, I know, I know BORING! But I am not that random shaved pattern, or bright Rhianna inspired curls; type of girl. I am as boring when it comes to my hair as we expect west life's new album to be. (Sorry if I offended any die hard fans, but guys please its snooze music). But even though I am a total bore I want to maintain stylistic legibility and find a style that's versatile. Basically something that I can switch up from time to time yet doesn't take a whole lot of maintenance for those lazy days.

I have been loving the centre parting with sharp layered look; sported by stylish and sultry celebs such as Kim Kardashian and Lauren London.

I absolutely love the way the fringe/bangs sweeps over the front of face. This hair style seems like it would suit many and be quite versatile to wear in comparison to having your fringe cut A-line going diagonally across your face. This style would look amazing straight, naturally curled, curled with rollers or a hot iron, straight with the front hair/bangs flicked for the Kim effect or pinned or tyed back with the hair still kept in a centre parting. See its meant to be I'm already planning a future with this style. I shall be back in a week or so with pics of me and my (hopefully) sassy new hairstyle.

Before I take the matters of my hair in a hairdressers hands please let me know what you think. Love or hate?

Thank you guys so much for stopping by. Wishing you a great day.
xoxo
